Respite Connection began from a passion to make life simpler. For families, respite care can be the extra support needed when life becomes overwhelming. For those who provide respite care, it is an enriching life experience and an opportunity to directly impact another individual. Respite Connection was created to simplify services by focusing on our passion…respite.
After many years of working with respite agencies both administratively and as a direct care staff, founder Missy Ringgenberg decided to create an organization that would strive to reduce red tape for both families and respite providers. Missy began working with waiver services when they first came to Iowa, and knew that by providing only waiver services, there would be only one set of rules. This allows us to focus on keeping services as family and staff-friendly as possible. Our message has been received….what began as a few families receiving respite from Missy personally in her home, has grown to serving over 1000 individuals across Iowa. We love what we do and it shows!
In 2003, Respite Connection added Supported Community Living as a service to provide families the opportunity to use one agency for both services. These services complement each other in their support of individuals and their family members.
