Mental health therapy (counseling) can help people handle emotions that are experienced from stressors. Whether they are every day stresses or traumatic events, therapy can help people learn tools to manage and cope through challenging times and experiences. Therapy at Respite Connection is provided by licensed professionals.

How could therapy benefit me?
People access therapy for a variety of reasons. Some things therapy may help with include:
- managing relationships
- managing stressful work or home life situations
- traumatic events
- supporting family members with disabilities
- managing a disability
- parenting styles
Therapy is provided in a safe, non-judgmental environment and offers time that is devoted to you. During therapy your counselor will evaluate your needs and work with you to develop a treatment plan that will help you reach your agreed-upon goals. Common goals may be developing useful coping and stress management skills, problem solving skills, becoming more assertive, or managing symptoms associated with grief or trauma.
